Dear Mythology Kids,

HOMEWORK:
1. Please read pages 27-first 1/2 of 36. Please annotate for THREE points of INTEREST/each section on the gods. Notate for why you consider the annotations to be interesting for you.

2. MYA and CRYSTAL....You have "Zeus..." Please locate an additional source....(besides the one I gave to everyone today in class)  By the way, you will need to stop by and pick up the source regarding Zeus that was given to everyone today in class. The additional source you find may come from the internet, but NOT WIKIPEDIA. I would suggest encyclopediamythica.com.

Please have #1 and #2 prepared for THURSDAY!

1. We took our quiz covering The Creation. If you missed class,  you will need to take the quiz during Consultation Time on Monday.

2. We also completed the chart regarding the Pantheon. I highly recommend that you obtain this information from a peer.

SEE YOU ON THURSDAY!
Cheers,
Crampton

Dear Mythology Kids,

YOU WILL HAVE A QUIZ covering the CREATION MYTH on TUESDAY.

"How do I prepare for it, Crampton?
1. Make sure you are INCREDIBLY familiar with the flow chart of the myth. If you can explain to someone that does not know the story, and then answer their questions, you are off to a strong start. MAKE SURE YOU CAN IDENTIFY PROPER NOUNS!

2. You are welcome to create flashcards for each of the characters...one card/character. If you do this, then you may use a 1/4 of the ones you created on the quiz. DO NOT PLACE ALL THE INFORMATION ON ONE CARD!

If you missed class, we went through a practice question, in order to be prepared for the quiz.

We then started learning about the Greek Pantheon...GREEK and ROMAN names, SYMBOLS, and DOMAINS. If you missed class, please obtain this information from your book or from a peer.

Have a great weekend!
Cramptom

Wednesday, January 25th, 2017

Dear Mythology Kids,

TODAY WAS NOT A GOOD DAY TO MISS! This is important....I am always so happy to work with you regarding missed class periods, but I can't assist you if you don't communicate with me PRIOR to missing class. ADVOCATE for yourself, my young friends, BEFORE you miss the class period.

What happened today in class.....CREATION MYTH, specifically the symbolism and the "truth" regarding Chaos and Order. YOU MUST COMMUNICATE with a friend that was in class. Ask them to EXPLAIN the myth to you, as obtaining the notes will not be sufficient in helping you grasp the "truth" behind the story.

The following handout was also given to each student. Please print it off, and place it in your notebook BEHIND the flow chart for the CREATION MYTH.

Name __________________________
Symbolism and the “Order from the Chaos” in the CREATION MYTH
Consider the following images regarding the Greek “Creation” myth. Each is highly symbolic and also relevant to the common motif of “Chaos creates order, and order creates chaos,” found within many of the myths. Offer insights for the symbolic meanings, and how the symbolism transfers to “chaotic order.”

We completed one portion of the handout as group, so that the expectations were clear. Communicate with someone that was in class in order to grasp the expectations.

HOMEWORK:
None! Just don't miss class! See you on Friday!

Your FINAL exam!

Dear Mythology Kids, It's nice to "see" you again. Let me offer some "study guidance" for your final exam. Please ...
