Dear Mythology Students,
If you missed class today, we completed the following:
1. I returned the "What is a Classic" writing assignment and "Why study Classical Mythology" annotations to each student. Please communicate with me when you return so you will understand my comments on both assignments.
2. Students then at PC #2. I have included it for you below, so you can respond to it. Please record it on a 3x5 card. If you miss a PC, you are welcome to complete them, but they need to be submitted the next class period.
1. As part of our last class discussion, you were introduced to the “chaos that is order” regarding Spartan society. Explain this to an individual that knows little about the Spartan culture, and then offer a specific example that proves “chaos is order” regarding Sparta.
2. We then discussed the "truth" that is chaos, and how it is a foundational component to the myths.
3. We started the Creation Myth.
HOMEWORK:
None!

2. Consider this image! Look closely….What
do you notice about this piece that connects to Sparta and its “organized
chaos.”
